Saunas
A freestanding retreat in your backyard. Outdoor saunas combine the traditional sauna experience with the restorative act of stepping outside — whatever the season.

Your Backyard, Transformed
Outdoor saunas deliver something an indoor unit simply cannot — the contrast of stepping from intense heat into cool outdoor air. That thermal contrast is where much of the physiological benefit lives.
The Thermal Contrast Effect
Alternating between intense sauna heat and cool outdoor air produces a powerful cardiovascular effect — blood vessels rapidly dilate and constrict, circulation surges, and the nervous system response is more pronounced than indoor use alone.
No Indoor Space Required
An outdoor sauna frees you from fitting a unit inside your home. Any flat, well-drained area of your yard can become a dedicated wellness space — no remodeling, no giving up a room.
Barrel Sauna Efficiency
The cylindrical barrel shape reduces interior air volume relative to bench space — meaning faster heat-up times and more efficient fuel use than a rectangular unit of comparable capacity.
Year-Round Enjoyment
Well-insulated outdoor saunas perform in freezing temperatures. Winter sauna sessions followed by a cold plunge are the pinnacle of the Nordic wellness tradition — and deeply restorative.
Entertaining & Social Use
Outdoor saunas naturally become gathering spaces. Larger configurations seat 4–8 people, making them ideal for hosting — a genuinely unique addition to your property and social life.
Property Value
Real estate data consistently shows wellness features like outdoor saunas improve sale prices and time-on-market in competitive markets. It’s a permanent home improvement.

What to Know About Outdoor Sauna Placement
Outdoor sauna installation is simpler than most people expect — but there are a few things worth confirming before you order. Our specialists walk every customer through this checklist.
- A flat, well-drained surface is required — gravel, pavers, or a deck work well
- Electric models need a 240V outdoor outlet within 15–20 feet
- Wood-burning models require no electrical connection at all
- Most jurisdictions don’t require permits for freestanding structures under 200 sq ft*
- Allow 18–24 inches clearance around the sauna for airflow and maintenance
- A cold plunge tub or outdoor shower nearby completes the experience

BEST FOR
Is an Outdoor Sauna Right for You?
Backyard Owners
If you have outdoor space and want to keep the sauna separate from your living area, outdoor units are purpose-built for this. No indoor installation required.
The Full Ritual
Step out of intense heat into cold air, a pool, or a shower. The contrast therapy cycle is at its best when your sauna is outdoors with space to cool down.
Barrel & Pod Aesthetics
Outdoor saunas — especially barrel designs — are architectural features. They add visual appeal and perceived value to any property.
⚠ A Note on Local Permits
Permit requirements for outdoor structures vary by city, county, and HOA. Some jurisdictions require a permit for any permanent structure over a certain size; others do not. We strongly recommend checking with your local building department before ordering. We’re happy to help you think through the questions to ask — just book a free consultation.
